Fragments

2005

A design for an astronomer and geologist which interprets the ‘ground’ as a dynamic system of multiple fragmentations. The final inhabitable space was created through installation. This space is derived from fragments of the original site, reconstructed.

This lead to further fragmentation caused by the interaction of physical space, digital space, and reactive empirical space. The space reacted to its inhabitation reprojecting fragments back into the space based on the sound levels. The space created was a free space with no predetermined syntax for user interaction. Instead of the architect dictating how the space should be used the user is able to reprogram and reinterpret the space.
